About Us

Our Mission is to increase representation for Black kids and families in yoga, mindfulness and wellness.

OFDY was created through the personal need of our founder SonJoria Sydnor and her family. Due to the lack of resources and experiences that represent Black kids in aspects of yoga and wellness that their white peers have regular access to SonJoria wrote a book and sought out to create products and opportunities to increase visibility for Black children and families like hers. We work to fill the gap through books, products, and videos on our YouTube channel. We feel that it is not only important for Black kids to see themselves represented in wellness but it is important for all kids to know that Black Kids Do Yoga.
